Breaking News: Big Trouble with the Watchtower
by Bethelite Elder ina couple of weeks ago, an ex-bethelite(10 years) by the name of mel smith was disfellowshipped.
i understand that he still lives in ny are and has a mortgage company.
evidently, he was hurt while serving at the farm and watchtower did some horrible things to him.

The chairman/ PO sent him a certified letter with a blank sheet of paper inside; to supposedly invite him to a Judicial Committee.
Bethelite Elder,
IMO, this simple phrase reveals your ignorance of how this organization works. Summoning someone to a JC is informal, and certainly not by means of a certified letter. It dismisses you as a credible poster, let alone a bethelite elder.

I'm Still Torn About the Blood Issue
by palmtree67 inwhen i left the org.
the blood issue wasn't an issue for me.
my best friend was on the blood committee for years and i could see many cases where either blood wouldn't have saved the person anyways (like when a person is in a serious car accident and their liver is in pieces), or blood actually killed the person and/or hindered recovery.. then my little nephew got leukemia.

I have mixed feelings about blood transfusions. Although I'm not attending meetings anymore, I feel that God's command has, somehow, saved quite many JW lifes, if only when people would, 30 years ago, get HIV infected blood and JWs were protected by their religious stand. Also, and this is not religious, blood trade is scandalous, since the raw product is procured for free from well intentioned people or bought cheap from the poor, and sold at high price, even when the sellers know full well that it is infected. A political scandal ravaged France about 20 years ago for this reason.
Now, one has to admit that the current stand of the WTS on this subject, that is accepting fractions, has little to do with religious integrity and more with legal, and therefore financial, interests.
In conclusion, I don't know.

MY BROTHER-IN-LAW HAS DIED
by Mary inthis is one post i had always hoped i would never have to do, but after a long and brave battle, my beloved brother in law has died.
i have done a couple of threads on this in the past, so many of you know the battles he was facing.
he had been diagnosed earlier this year with myelodysplastic syndrome and the mortality rate of this disease is quite high.

Mary,
you talk so lovingly about your brother in law, he must have been a good person indeed. His life hasn't been wasted since his relatives and friends keep such a fond memory of him. Sincere condolences to you and your family.

Consolation on Demand
by chasson ini have a lot of consolation magazines that i could scan.. if you want a particular issue for research, tell me and i will scan it, and you can tell to the board more what are your research, so everybody will have more insight.. .
here is one of this magazine concerning the madison square garden incident.
this incident is connected with the olyn moyle's trial and it is interessant to see the vision of rutherford concerning this.. he tried in this magazine to excuse the usher, because what he said on stage was "the word of jehovah", so nobody must stop the "spreading of the word of god".

Thanks, Charles, makes us see even more clearly that the WTS hasn't always been as separate from the world as they now claim to be.
I wonder, downloading your files takes an awful lot of time, can't you make them less heavy when scanning your documents ?

Sorry to be so stubborn, Snowbird, it seems that english Wikipedia is a bit Anglo Saxon self orientated. Côte d'Ivoire became a french protectorate in 1843, then a colony, until it became independent in 1960. Unless it was called Ivory Coast (which is Côte d'Ivoire translation) before...called so even by the French ?

LOL, I remember that, her counsellors had to tell her that Africa is a continent, not a country, assuming that she knew what a continent is.
